I recently got a call from 'The Early Show', and boy did it come as a surprise! I was the lucky one chosen and I won a free wedding ceremony which was to be aired on national television... but it was to be held in a week!

With such short notice, I could not risk getting a poorly written wedding speech... imagine the horror if my speech just crashed and burned! And in front of a nationwide audience! I just couldn't take that risk...

I'm not sure if you remember me but many years back, you wrote a best man's speech for me and it was the exact funny, emotional speech I had intended to give all along. So when I had to choose a groom speech, I knew that YOU were the man I could count on to do the best job!

I initially thought that making a speech would be simple and I could handle it easily... then the month before my best mate's wedding, I attended a friend's and he very obviously decided to 'playing it by ear'. The restlessness in the crowd and 'pitiful' clapping which greeted the end of his speech was just so mortifying!

My girl actually told me 'You're not going to do that are you? I wouldn't know where to hide!'

What an eye-opener! Thankfully, after witnessing that nightmare, I decided to get this guide instead to prepare me for the real world scenario!
